It was a bright sunny day….
I had to go to JPJ to renew my driving license.
When I reached there; “God, look at the amount of the people waiting to be served!!!”
While waiting for my turn, I looked around, wondering why on earth there are so many people today.
Today was not a public holiday!
Didn’t they go to work?
Suddenly, something caught my attention.
There was this little Malay boy, sitting at the corner of the room, eating a chocolate bun.
Then, there was a little Chinese girl standing not far from him, staring at him eating.
But, it took him for a while to actually catch a glimpse of her in the crowd.
The girl can’t really speak Malay ( I heard her speaking Chinese to her mom ) and obviously the boy can’t speak Chinese…
Thus, they communicated entirely by gesture.
He gestured her to come closer and share the bun.
At first, the girl was shy and hesitating but after a few moments,
She took some steps forward….
And at the end, they sat next to each other, sharing the bun…=)
Despite of what the newspapers have always been reporting lately about how the different races in Malaysia hate each other, I was really amazed with this situation. I always find children are innocent and simple. Their approach of life is refreshingly naïve. They make friends with anybody, regardless of the religion, race, and colour.
why can’t adult be the same???
